I offer a free initial consultation to give you the opportunity to consider if this therapy is for you, and during the initial consultation, I will take you through the process and explain how stress and anxiety are created and how you can overcome issues in your life.

 

You will also receive a free audio relaxation download to listen to, recorded by myself, which will support our work together and for you to benefit from before and after the therapy sessions.

I’ve always been intrigued by hypnotism, so when the opportunity came up at the back end of 2024 to try some sessions with Alison, I went in with an open mind. From the very first meeting, she made me feel comfortable and genuinely listened to what I was saying — and even to things I didn’t realise I was saying.

Through our conversations, I came to understand a lot more about myself. One of the biggest breakthroughs was realising, with Alison’s help, that my OCD was starting to become more of a problem than I had admitted to myself. Over the course of the eight planned sessions, my partner and I noticed that my compulsions had significantly reduced — something I really didn’t expect when I first started.

Alison’s approach is warm, professional, and full of insight. She helped me uncover things I didn’t even know were holding me back, and I’m so glad I took the leap. If you’re curious about hypnosis or wondering whether it can help you, I’d definitely recommend giving her a try.

Hypnosis, or trance, is a natural, altered state of consciousness where your mind becomes deeply focused and relaxed.  It’s not mysterious or magical, and we all experience it without even realising, like when we get absorbed in a book or movie or lose track of time while driving a familiar route. We all do it all the time. Whenever you go into your own world and imagination, you are going into a trance and this can be an incredibly relaxing experience.

 

In Hypnotherapy, trance means that your attention narrows, making you more receptive to positive suggestions. You’re less critical or analytical, which helps bypass mental blocks. Your body feels calm, and your mind slows down, creating space for change.

 

You’re always in control, and you can come out of it anytime you choose.

What a Session Looks Like

 

I offer a free initial consultation of about 45 minutes where we’ll discuss your concerns, your goals, and what you would like to change in your life. I will explain how hypnosis works and answer any questions you have.

 

In a typical hypnotherapy session with me, we will focus on solutions and strategies. Then I will guide you into a calm state of relaxation, which helps quieten the conscious mind and prepares it for deeper focus where your mind becomes more receptive to helpful and positive suggestions aligned with your goals.

 

After I bring you gently back to full awareness when you should often feel refreshed and relaxed, we will reflect on your experience, discuss any insights, and plan next steps.

 

Sessions usually last around 60 minutes, and I will track your progress over time.
